Villingavatnsárós Beat Expanded for 2026

We’re excited to announce an important update for the 2026 season at Lake Þingvallavatn.
The legendary Villingavatnsárós beat 3A, long known as one of the finest trophy brown trout beats in Iceland, has been extended to include the neighboring Villingavatnsárós beat 3B.

This means anglers fishing Villingavatnsárós will now have access to even more water, including well-known points and drop-offs adjacent to the river mouth, while the beat remains strictly limited to just two rods for a truly private experience.

This adjustment not only expands the fishing area but also enhances the variety of water available, from shallow flats to deeper channels where the lake’s massive “ice age” browns prowl.

🎣 Bookings for 2026 are now open. Contact us to reserve your rod on this newly expanded, world-class beat.
