Svartá Trout Beat
Experience the thrill of fishing in the Svartá River, a fantastic spot for both Arctic char and brown trout. This area boasts a mix of resident and migratory trout, making it a diverse fishing ground.
The fishing zone begins where the Hvammsá River flows into the Svartá River, just above the uppermost fishing spot on the salmon beat known as Teigakot. From there, the Svartá River winds up the Svartárdalur Valley for nearly six kilometers(4miles) before it branches. The main river, Svartá, continues for over 30km(18miles) deep into the Highlands of Eyvindarstaðaheiði. The western branch of the river, known as Fossá, runs through the Fossárdalur Valley. This part of the river is slower and has less water, making it perfect for upstream fishing with dry flies and nymphs.
This enchanting location offers a serene and productive fishing experience for fly fishing enthusiasts. Enjoy the natural beauty and plentiful fish of Svartá!
