Hofsá
Located in upper Vesturdalur in Skagafjörður, Hofsá offers approximately 25 km of fishing. Sea-run Arctic char make up most of the catch, with occasional Atlantic salmon and sea trout.
The river can carry glacial colour, particularly below its confluence with Fossá. Above this junction, the clear upper section is known as Runukvísl.
Runukvísl
Runukvísl winds through a scenic canyon for approximately 6 km to Runufoss waterfall. Its clear water and numerous pools offer exciting opportunities for sight fishing for sea-run Arctic char.
A four-wheel-drive vehicle provides access to the lower section; exploring farther upstream requires walking.
