In this package, anglers will fish a rotation of Beats 1 and 2 on Blanda River, the 2 main salmon beats on the river.
- Day 1
- 11:00 am: Pick-up in Reykjavík
- 2:30 pm: Arrive at Blanda Lodge, Check-in with welcome snacks, coffee, and tea
- 4:00 pm: Fishing begins
- 8:30 pm: 3-course dinner
- Days 2-4
- 7:00–8:00 am: Breakfast
- 8:00 am: Fishing begins
- 1:00 pm: Lunch at the lodge – You can choose if you relax for a bit after lunch or go directly back out fishing.
- 8:00 pm: Head back to the Lodge
- 8:30 pm: Dinner
- Day 5
- 7:00–8:00 am: Breakfast
- 8:00 am: Fishing begins
- 1:00 pm: Lunch at the lodge – Check out and head home after lunch

The Lodge
The comfortable new full-service lodge features 12 double en-suite rooms, a large deck, a hot tub and sauna, and fabulous international cuisine. This coupled with world-class salmon angling makes the Blanda one of the top rivers in Iceland today.
Fishing addons and nonfishing activities
Although salmon fishing on beats 1-3 is the mainstay at Long Valley Lodge, the lodge and area offer countless other options, including salmon and trout fishing, hunting, and sightseeing.
Float trip addon
For those seeking adventure, we offer an exciting float trip down the canyon at Beat 3 of Blanda. This trip provides access to numerous rarely-fished pools, perfect for anglers looking to explore untouched waters.
Trout fishing options
Around Long Valley Lodge we have a huge variety of trout fishing options for Brown Trout and Arctic Char. From chasing trophy browns on Beat 3 on the mighty Blanda, casting dries for Char and Browns in the upper reaches of Svartá to exploring the endless waters of the Northern Highlands.
Salmon fishing options
Besides the traditional Beats 1-2 on Blanda guests at Long Valley Lodge could fish the scenic Blanda Beats 3 and 4 or the smaller Svartá tributary for salmon, subject to availability.

Casting School
For the 2025 season, Glenda Powell will be working at Long Valley Lodge as a casting instructor.
Glenda Powell is regarded as one of the world’s leading fly-casting instructors and has been teaching fly casting and fishing for almost 30 years. She is one of the highest qualified salmon fly casting instructors in the world, having achieved the APGAI-Ireland both Double-handed and Single-handed certifications to the highest levels. Glenda became a World Champion in 2006 when she won the Overhead Salmon Distance Casting Competition for women at Carton House.
Guests at Long Valley Lodge will able to take casting lessons with Glenda, everything from half-day to multi-day lessons are available.
