Battle Hill Lodge Opening Week Report

Battle Hill Lodge – Opening Week Success

The 2025 sea trout season at Battle Hill is off to a fantastic start. Over the first week, our guests landed 88 fish on 7 rods, with the largest measuring an impressive 86 cm/34″.

Conditions have been excellent, and the fishing has reflected that. Sea trout are already well spread out across the system, with fish caught far up into Geirlandsá and Þverárvatn, as well as in the more typical early-season beats of Vatnamót and Fossálar. Alongside the sea trout, a handful of Atlantic salmon were also landed, adding to the excitement of the first week.

It’s always a thrill to see fish pushing into new water this early, and combined with great guests and great conditions, it has been a memorable opening week at Battle Hill Lodge.
