Experience the Untouched Beauty of Iceland’s North Highlands
This fly fishing day tour will take you to the remote and pristine North Highlands of Iceland, specifically to the Blöndukvíslar area. Known for its breathtaking landscapes and tranquil surroundings, the North Highlands offer an unparalleled opportunity to connect with nature. The area south of the Blöndulón reservoir includes all the rivers flowing into the upper Blanda river and the reservoir itself. Here, you can explore a network of six main rivers and several smaller creeks, all nestled within an untouched and wild environment.
The Rivers and Fishing Experience
The rivers in this region, including Seyðisá, Beljandi, Þegjandi, Kúlukvísl, Stórilækur, Herjólfslækur, and Haugakvísl, are rich with brown trout and Arctic char. These waters are ideal for various fishing techniques such as nymphing, dry-fly, and streamer fishing. Due to limited access, fishing in these rivers often requires hiking along their banks, making it a perfect adventure for those who relish the challenge of fishing in secluded, natural settings.
