Sea Angling

Welcome to the fjords of Iceland, where we offer unique opportunities for a rewarding and accessible deep sea angling. Our concept is based on a comprehensive solution with smooth transportation, comfortable accommodations and exciting fishing activities - you choose the destination and time, we arrange what you need for an experience beyond the ordinary!

The west part of  Iceland is one of the last wildernesses in civilized Europe. The small villages of the coast have a great coastal fishing with incredible amounts of cod, haddock and catfish. There are also good opportunities to catch saithe, halibut and flatfish. Check the Gallery for more pictures. We use large and secure boats that allow you to go out a bit from the coast.

Deep sea fishing trips are a great way for you and your family or friends to spend a day together that you will never forget. On vacation with your family and not sure what you should do the whole time? Deep sea fishing trips are a great way for you and your family or friends to spend a day together that you will never forget :)

In addition to fishing, the nature in the northern part of Iceland offers experiences that are difficult to obtain in other places on earth. You will see lots of whales, and with luck even the ocean giant - the great blue whale measuring up to 40 meters in length! Seabirds of various species will be around your boat and you will be able to see e.g. atlantic puffin and nordic storm bird.

About the fishing resorts

Sudureyri is a small village 23km away from Ísafjördur, the biggest town in the West fjords. Sudureyri is an ideal destination for everybody travelling in the area. You will find all important services in town. Sudureyri is a fine example of an Icelandic fishing village and very close to one of the best angling sites in the north Atlantic. Throughout the ages, the locals have brought catch from the sea and prevailed with elegance through the difficulties of the fishing industry.

Flateyri is located only 20 minutes from Isafjördur and Sudureyri. The town is quite self-contained and all major services are to be found there. It has its own tranquil way of life. Flateyri is a lovely place in the calm of the evening when boats slumber by the harbour and the fjord beyond it sports an upside down image of Þorfinnur mountain. In the shadow of the mountain, the hearts of fish and men beat in time with the tide.

Wow Air,

Clothing: In spite of the relatively mild climate, you should bring warm clothing and, most importantly, quality rainwear and a windcheater. Please check out the average temperature table here below. Chest waders and wading shoes. Nicer clothes to wear for dinner.

Tackle disinfection: Iceland has always been free of diseases like UDN and Gyrodactylus salaris and we intend to keep it that way. There is a strict policy of visiting anglers having their tackle sterilized before coming to Iceland. This should be done in a 2% formaldehyde solution for 10 minutes and performed by a veterinary surgeon. (Tackle sterilized in Virkon S is also acceptable.) A signed inventory of what has been sterilized should be provided by the vet for presentation to the customs officers at Keflavik airport. The most important items to be treated are: rods, reel/line, waders and flies.

The process can be carried out by staff at Keflavik airport. The office is located at the far side of the baggage reclaim hall, downstairs in the airport. Just notify one of the personnel in the area that you need your tackle disinfected and they will have a member of the staff come and complete the process. The price for one fishing set is 3.500 ISK
